In a statement on the Hello! Project website Iikubo mentions the decision to graduate came to her in the spring of this year. She will remain in the entertainment industry and she expressed a desire to start solo-activities (radio, stage plays, activities revolving around manga & fashion,…) after her graduation. Her graduation is a way of challenging herself.
She will be discussing her graduation on the next episode of Young Town Douyoubi (MBS).

Morning Musume’18’s fall tour is currently set to end on December 9 at the Fuji-shi Bunka Kaikan Rose Theater in Shizuoka, although this is by no means final and more dates may be added.
Iikubo is currently the longest serving sub-leader of the group. She joined Morning Musume and Hello! Project on September 2,9 2011 alongside Ishida Ayumi, Sato Masaki & Kudo Haruka after winning the Morning Musume 10ki Member “Genki Jirushi” Audition.
